The basking shark (Cetorhinus maximus) is a huge filter feeding shark which grows to be approximately 33 feet (10 m) long. (enchantedlearning.com) It is the second-largest shark (after the whale shark). This big, bulky, shark is a filter-feeder. It cruises slowly through the ocean and uses its huge mouth to collect tiny food that floats in the water.
